Roman for Congress - Social Security
This is another controversial subject. Here's my viewpoint.
SS is mine. It's ours. It is NOT the governments. We earn this money and it should go into a separate, protected account. Protected from who? From the Congress, of course. Right now they spend it and replace it with IOUs. NOT. It should be in an untouchable account and earn interest.
I used to show students in my MS Excel class a special formula. I showed them an example of someone starting a career at age 25, making $30,000 a year. We assumed that this person made that salary every year for 40 years until they retired at age 65. We also assume that we could take the SS deduction taken from our pay and also the employers portion and bank it! That's about 13% of our monthly salary. Assume again that we earned 5% compound interest. At age 65, we would be millionaires. Where does the money go? We don't get it all!
No illegal alien should be able to get Social Security benefits. I would introduce a law to put the SS dollars in a governemnt CD or bond IN OUR NAMES! Illegal aliens would not get SS, unless they became citizens by following the LEGAL procedures.
I like Ronald Reagan's statement.... "Government is not the solution to the problem, government IS the problem!"
