FREEDOM

What is your definition of freedom? People all have their own definitions of freedom. In the 1828 Noah Webster dictionary, the definition is: A state of exemption from the power or control of another. The second definition is "liberty", and the third definition is exemption from slavery.

Most people will agree with these definitions, but ask them if they think they are free and you could get many answers. It depends on what you consider "big government." I think there is too much government. The government has grown much too large. The intent of the founders was to go to congress, take care of business and then coming back to their homes and living under the laws they passed.

Today we have a political class. Professional politicians whose main business is to get re-elected. While they are in Washington, they believe it is their duty to pass more laws, create more agencies and increase taxes to pay for all their largesse. Every time they pass another bill, you lose more of your freedom.

This happens at the state level and the local level. Even the local school board takes away some of your future freedom when they fail to make sure students learn not only the Constitution, but the principles upon which it was founded.

If our students don't know what freedoms they are given by God and our Constitution, then they will never know what they lost. They will only know what the government will give them.

Do you want to be a doctor? A lawyer? A policeman? A small business owner? Do you want to make that choice or do you want the government to decide that for you.

Are you as free as you used to be 20 years ago? 10 years ago? Will your children inherit that same freedom? Will they even know what freedoms we had? What can you do to save our freedom? Get involved with your local government. Take back your freedoms by participating. Run for local precinct committeeman. Run for your local school board. Change what your children are being taught. They are not being taught about freedom. YOU can change that!

Freedom is the capacity for self determination. There is a desire of freedom written in every human heart. Freedom is the absence of restraints on our ability to think and act.

The only thing we should want from our government is FREEDOM!

We are still free to restore our freedom, but only if you ACT NOW!

Roman for Congress - FREEDOM

What does freedom mean to you? What does freedom mean to you here in America? I looked at a copy of Noah Webster's 1828 Dictionary for the meaning our Founders would have used.

FREEDOM: A state of exemption from the power or control of another; liberty; exemption from slavery, servitude or confinement. Freedom is personal, civil, political and religious.

Here is a series of definitions from that dictionary in a 4 part series......
Freedom from restraint, in a general sense, and applicable to the body, or to the will or mind. The body is at liberty, when not confined; the will or mind is at liberty, when not checked or controlled. A man enjoys liberty, when no physical force operates to restrain his actions or volitions.

None of this freedom could exist with out a set of rules. This country was founded on Judeo Christian principles which checks the accesses of human nature.

Read the next section on Natural Liberty as defined by Noah Webster in 1828.

Roman for Congress - Freedom

Freedom means a lot of things to many people. What does freedom mean to you?
Freedom is freedom of speech, even if it might hurt or insult people. Political correctness is NOT freedom. It is censorship and it depends on who is doing the censoring. The McCain-Feingold act is political censorship.

Talk radio is freedom of speech. It is market based talk (or listening) A good example is a local talk radio station I listened to had Glen Beck as one of the morning talk show hosts. I really liked his program. Then one day the station replaced him with Jerry Springer. I didn't care for Jerry Springer, so I switched stations at that time slot. I did NOT write the station or my Congressman asking that he be removed. I just turned the dial. I guess a lot of people did that because Jerry was gone after 6 months. People just didn't want to hear Jerry and advertising for that time slot went down. It was a matter of profit for the station.

Freedom was provided by the Constitution and the Ten Amendments. Those were created based on the Judeo-Christian concepts of the Founding Fathers. The evidence and documentation is overwhelming. Blocking access to these documents by not requiring such courses in school is a form of censorship.

Unless Americans are educated, we will lose our freedom completely. If you interview anybody under 21 about U.S. History, the Constitution or the 10 Amendments you will see the total lack of such knowledge. That is sad and because of that we are not free. We are slaves to the government.
Freedom means not FORCING people to hear opposing views. There are a lot of other stations he can host a show on like Air America. I can't help it they are almost bankrupt. They did not have a product that the market wanted!
